Link Wentworth residents are encouraged to apply for a NSW state government scheme, which will cover the majority of the cost of a new front-loader washing machine. The offer is only open to current social housing tenants who have an existing top-loader washing machine to replace.
News alert:
The NSW Government washing machine replacement program is now closed. The program which was open until 30 September 2022 has received a huge response and is no longer accepting new applications and orders because the supply of washing machines has been exhausted. If NSW residents have any questions, they can email [email protected]

The scheme was launched in order to save social housing tenants money on their power and water, and to positively impact the environment. Did you know replacement washing machines will save more than 25,000 litres of water each year, per machine? They will also save $200 to $245 in annual household water, electricity and detergent costs.
For a contribution of between $150 to $250, social housing tenants can get a brand-new washing machine and the scheme will cover the remaining cost, including delivery. Your old machine will be removed and disposed of.
Who is eligible to apply?
The program is open to eligible social housing residents who:
- are a NSW resident and over 18 years old
- hold a valid Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card* or Low-income Health Care Card from Centrelink (A Commonwealth Seniors Health Card is not sufficient for this offer)
- have an existing top loading washing machine to replace.
